The
Youth Pathways program is an initiative of the Australian Government
funded through the Department of Education, Employment and Work
Relations. The program aims to assist young people aged 13
- 19 years who are most at risk of not making a successful transition
to reach their full potential by keeping them engaged or re-engaging
them with education or training.
The successful
applicant may possess qualifications in education, human services
or social science and have previous experience in case management
with the client group. The successful applicant will also
have an acute awareness of school/learning environments and career
development processes.
Experience
and commitment to working within a motivated and integrated youth
service team is essential.
BACKGROUND
Youth
Pathways is an initiative of the Australian Government as part of
it's commitment to enhancing the skills of all young Australians
and to the continued development of an integrated national career
and transitions system. The Australian Network of Industry Careers
Advisers (ANICA) is a major platform assisting all young Australians
to make a successful transition from school to an enduring career.
Youth Pathways will complement ANICA by providing intensive personalised
assistance and support to those young people identified as being
the most at risk of not making a successful transition.
Participants
will receive personalised assistance including assessment, ongoing
support and guidance to help overcome barriers to effective participation
in education, training or employment service programs.
The
key objective of the Youth Pathways Program is to retain or re-engage
participants in the school environment through to completion of
Year 12 or its equivalent or alternatively engage them in non school-based
education, vocational learning and training.
An enthusiastic,
skilled and/or committed person is required to develop linkages
and support between schools, alternative education providers and
community organisations; enhance access to existing and new services
for young people to assist in resolving issues that contribute to
the risk of not making a successful transition from school to an
enduring career.
The successful
applicant will be well organised and outcome driven with an empathy
for young people. The successful applicant will also possess advanced
communication, interpersonal, literacy and computer skills to plan
and develop strategies to assist individual clients.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Applicants must address
the followig Key Selection Criteria, providing relevant examples.

- Evidence of tertiary studies and/or professional experience
in Education, Social Science, Human Services or related fields
- Demonstrated experience with and skills in case management of
clients, particularly young people, inlcuding the ability to provide
assistance and appropriate referrals to young people and their
families to resolve issues contributing to the risk of disengaging
prematurely from learning or training
- Demonstrated ability to establish collaborative structures,
linking mechanisms and referral networks between schools, training
providers and relevant youth, Government, business and community
services
- Current or recent involvement in community and/or education
activities and evidence of existing links with eduction, training,
employment and community networks within the Wide Bay - Burnett
District or other similar regions
- Excellent administration skills and a strong knowledge of Windows
based progams including Workd, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work autonomously and in a dynamic team environment

COORDINATOR
EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING - WIDE BAY

Community
Solutions Inc is seeking to employ a skilled and motivated Coordinator
- Employment and Training to develop, coordinate and support
employment and training programs in the Wide Bay area. This includes
staff supervision and performance management, service reporting
and implementation of appropriate service policies and protocols
compliant with funding agency requirements.
The
successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in the provision
of state and federal government funded accredited training and employment
assistance programs and a current Certificate IV in Training and
Assessment, or equivalent is desirable.
This
position will operate within a team environment. Existing
training and employment programs include components of funded work
placements, accredited training and employment assistance, with
a particular focus on mature aged.
The
successful applicant will be highly motivated, well organised and
able to demonstrate the ability to meet and exceed required service
outcomes. The successful applicant will possess advanced communication,
interpersonal, literacy and computer skills to plan and develop
strategies to coordinate training and employment programs, liaise
with stakeholders, support participants, develop reports and supervise
staff.
The
applicant will be able to operate effectively within and contribute
to a broader organisation and team environment. Due to service
requirements, a car package will be required. This will be
negotiated with the successful applicant.
It
is proposed that the successful applicant will assume a leadership
role within the organisation through the development of new areas
of service delivery within the training and employment market. This
will be achieved through the development of a highly effective training
and employment team. Therefore, demonstrated skills and previous
experience in developing and leading a positive service team is
a key requirement.

of accredited training and reporting requirements

Wide Bay region that are relevant to support the development
and implementation of training and employment services
