NEWS AND EVENTS

1. Community Solutions Inc. was awarded the 2004 Queensland Police Service Award for Excellence in Problem-Oriented and Partnership Policing for the Statewide Scope - Local Perspectives: Scan of Volatile Substance Misuse in Queensland Project.

2. Community Solutions Inc. has been invited by the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme to be a key support agency to attend and present at the 2006 Asian Youth Congress to be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand in October 2006.

3. Community Solutions Inc. played a key role in the 2005 Asian Youth Congress with three staff members attending and presenting drug prevention papers. The Congress was held in Penang, Malaysia during September 2005.

4.  Sunshine Coast Safelink to support Seniors. Community Solutions Inc. has commenced work on a three year crime prevention project targeting Sunshine Coast residents aged 60 and over. One of the key features of this project is a recreation and leisure program designed to support Seniors in the use of public spaces.

5.  Community Solutions Inc. has commenced 9 state funded employment programs for 2006-2007 targeting mature age people located in the Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg areas.

6.  The Street Angels Safety Net Service will be supporting the 2006 Sunshine Coast Rugby League Grand Final and 2006 Melbourne Cup Day event.
