Project
Goodwill – 2001 Goodwill Games Brisbane
Project
Goodwill was developed by the 2001 Goodwill Games Brisbane,
supported by the Queensland State Government and managed by Community
Solutions Inc. The aim of the project was to develop and implement
a high profile school and community project that provided the opportunity
for approximately 50,000 of Queensland’s young people to be
inspired by the excitement and positive role models associated with
the 2001 Goodwill Games. Launched by Queensland’s
Premier, Mr Peter Beattie, on 14 June 2001, this unique project
created an unprecedented response from more than 650 Queensland
primary, secondary and special schools that applied and received
50,000 tickets to attend the Goodwill Games.
