Innovative
Work for the Dole Initiatives
Community Solutions Inc. manages a range of Work for the Dole programs
on the Sunshine Coast and in Bundaberg.
These
programs aim to develop administration, information technology and
communication skills for participants as they collate, document
and present the rich history of local schools, sporting associations
and community groups. These organisations are an important
part of the social, cultural and economic fabric of our community
and these projects ensure that their proud history is recorded in
a way that is a true reflection of the hard work, achievements and
contributions that have been made.
This
Is Your Life, which
operates on the Sunshine Coast, is a similar project that focuses
on the achievements and community contribution of signifiant community
members.
Community

This project was conducted twice on the Sunshine Coast and once
in Maryborough. For each project, ten long-term unemployed, mature
aged participants were placed in a variety of host sporting organisations
to conduct general administration duties. CSAP was extremely successful
with employment or training outcomes of 80% or greater for each
project.
